Description

The Vocational Training and Entrepreneurship for Employment Project in Benin is a strategic program aimed at transforming Benin's technical and vocational training system while strengthening the national entrepreneurship ecosystem. It is part of the government's agenda for economic transformation and job creation for young people. Its intervention strategy is based on improving access to, equity in, quality of, and relevance of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) services, aligning them with labor market needs, while fostering a business-friendly environment and access to services for entrepreneurs.

Objectives

🚀 Increase access to technical training:
Expand the range of relevant training programs for 46,000 learners, prioritizing youth and women in key sectors.

👥 Improve equity and inclusion:
Reduce gender and rural disparities through targeted programs and recognition of prior learning.

💼 Strengthen TVET governance:
Modernize regulations, quality assurance, and public-private partnerships to align with the labor market.

🏢 Promote entrepreneurship:
Train and fund 2,200 entrepreneurs/businesses to create sustainable economic opportunities.
