The Project to Support the Development of Dairy and Meat Sectors and the Promotion of Livestock Businesses (PRODEFILAV-PEL) is a structuring initiative of the Beninese government, supported by the African Development Bank, aimed at modernizing and structuring the dairy and meat sectors by strengthening animal production systems and supporting the development of livestock businesses. The project adopts an integrated approach that combines investments in pastoral infrastructure, genetic improvement of livestock, strengthening of professional organizations, and development of modern livestock businesses. The intervention also aims to improve the productivity, competitiveness, and climate resilience of the livestock sectors, while stimulating job creation and rural entrepreneurship.
