Description

The RISE program – Resources, Investment, Support, Expansion – is an initiative of the Beninese government designed to accelerate the growth of SMEs and innovative startups with high potential by combining targeted financial support with technical and training assistance. The program aims to transform a limited number of SMEs into "national champions" capable of exporting, creating sustainable employment, and contributing to the diversification of the Beninese economy, particularly in the listed strategic sectors. The intervention approach is based on one-time signature funding (up to 30 million CFA francs) linked to a credible expansion plan; and individualized support (training, coaching, networking) to improve governance, performance, and resilience.

Objectives

✅ Accelerate the growth of high-potential SMEs and startups:
Support the quantitative and qualitative growth of targeted SMEs by financing their expansion strategies (productive investments, strengthening the value chain, etc.).

💼 Create sustainable jobs and promote economic inclusion:
Contribute to the creation of stable jobs and the inclusion of young people, women, and vulnerable groups in income-generating activities.

️ Strengthen the resilience and competitiveness of Beninese businesses:
Make beneficiaries more resilient to economic shocks and more competitive in the national, regional, and international markets through improved governance and strategy.

📈 Build a pool of "national champions" in priority sectors:
Develop a portfolio of leading SMEs in agribusiness, light industry, tourism, creative industries, and high-value-added services, capable of expanding beyond Benin.
